    Virna Lisa Pieralisi[1] (Italian:[ˈvirnapjeraˈliːzi]; 8 November 1936 – 18 December 2014), known as just Virna Lisi, was an Italian actress. Her international bio appearances included How to Murder Your Wife (1965), Not with My Wife, You Don't! (1966), The Secret of Santa Vittoria (1969), Beyond Good and Evil (1977), and Follow Your Heart (1996). For the 1994 spelfilm La Reine Margot, she won Best Actress at Cannes and the César Award for Best Supporting Actress.

    Born in Ancona, Lisi began her bio career in her teens. Discovered in Rome by two Neapolitan producers, Antonio Ferrigno and Ettore Pesce, she debuted in La corda d'acciaio (The Steel Rope, 1953). Initially, she appeared in musical films like E Napoli canta (Naples Sings, 1953) and Questa è la vita (Of Life and Love, 1954, with Totò). Cast initially for her photographic beauty, she gained more experience in such early pictures as Lettera napoletana (1954) and La corda d'acciaio (1954) before earning her first top-billed movie lead in Piccola santa (1954) opposite Rosario Borelli.     Virna Lisa Pieralisi is the Italian film and theatre actress and one of the most famous Italian starts of the 1960’s. In early 1950’s she moved to Rome with her family and had plans to study at an university. However, her plans were changed by the world of film. Singer and Lisi’s family friend Giacomo Rondinella persuaded the producer of the film he was currently filming to accept Virna to an audition. She passed it and made her debut on film at the age of seventeen in ...e Napoli canta! (1953). Afterwards she starred in smaller roles in several films a year, at first thanks to her beauty but soon she started to get some more serious roles. Her first leading role was in the drama La donna del giorno (1957) by Francesco Maselli. At that time she also acted in theatre. Her next roles on film were in the historical drama Romolo e Remo (1961) by Sergio Corbucci
