  • ‘Petals on the Wind’ Alum to Star in Hallmark Channel’s ‘The Bridge’ Adaptation

Wyatt Nash, who starred in Lifetime’s telepic “Petals on the Wind,” will be the leading man in Hallmark Channel‘s television movie “The Bridge,” Variety has learned.

“The Bridge,” the TV adaptation of the bestselling Karen Kingsbury novel, is a love story that follows a young couple, Molly Allen, who moves to small-town Tennessee for college, and country singer student Ryan Kelly. The two meet on the first day of class and, as their relationship grows, they come across many obstacles, but the pair is shepherded to pursue their dreams by the owners of a local bookstore called the Bridge.

Nash will play Ryan, who is described as a Southern born-and-bred aspiring musician who falls head-over-heels for Molly (who is yet to be cast).

The 27-year-old actor, and ardent outdoorsman, is calling from the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles, where he's spearheading a project to bring a camping-like experience indoors. But today, there's another celebration in session, and he's wandered right into a flock of Brazilian dancers. "This is fun, isn't it?"

The Nashville native recently starred in Hallmark Channel's small-town Southern romance "The Bridge," set in his home state, and it's oddly full circle that he's telling me about it from a hospital hallway. Nash (né Matt Elrod) began his career as a model at the frequent suggestion of admirers who'd walk into another hospital, in Tennessee, where he worked as a surgery technologist in college. After graduating pre-med, and competing on årstid 22 of "Survivor,
