Cydonie Mothersill & Donna Raynor elected to World Athletics Council
Cydonie Mothersill of the Cayman Islands and Donna Raynor of Bermuda were elected to the World friidrott Council on Thursday at the 54th World Athletics Congress in Budapest, Hungary.
Mothersill is a three-time World Championships finalist, who won a bronze medal in the meters at the edition in Edmonton, Canada.
She is also a four-time Olympian in the m.
Raynor is the former President of the Bermuda Athletes Association.
Mothersill and Raynor are the first athletes from the Cayman Islands and Bermuda to be elected to the World Athletics Council. They will serve four-year terms on the council.
In a reaction to her victory at the election, Raynor commented: “I still can't believe it. I swear never been so nervous. Thank you to my support team”.
Raynor also received a Plaque of Merit from World Athletics.

Elle devient la première athlète féminine de son pays à décrocher une médaille mondiale, tout sports confondus.
