It's time to cheer for a sport other than cricket, a sport which has seen an exponential growth over the gods few years. Sample this: as many as 4,000 shooters are expected to participate in the 57th National Shooting Championship, scheduled next week in New Delhi.

Aditya Tewari and Kunal Anand won the men's doubles title in The Tribune Cup National Ranking Championship tournament at the CLTA tennis courts today. The women's doubles title was won by Rimpledeep Kaur and Rajbir Kaur. Tewari and Anand trounced Deepinder Bains and Jajbir Singh in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4 in the title clash.

After nine rounds of counting in border constituency, Independent candidate Sarabjeet polled 49,439 votes, while AAP candidate Karamjit Singh Anmol got 29,927 votes, Shiromani Akali Dal’s Rajwinder Singh Dharamkot 20,824votes, Amarjit Kaur Sahoke of the Congress got 20,441 votes and the BJP’s Hans Raj Hans trailed with 11,182 votes.

Randhir Singh and Jagdev Singh today removed their vast collections of coins, medallions, currency notes, stamps, old radios and gramophones and kept them under the table instead of showcasing it for visitors to the 35th Prof Mohan Singh Yaadgari Mela being held at the stadium in Thermal Colony here. They are peeved as the management of the fair did not make proper arrangement for their meals and accommodation.
We were called here to exhibit our rare collection. However, the management had not arranged for our stay at night and we had to manage on our own. We felt neglected. As a mark of protest, we have removed our collection from the exhibit, they said.
