She Married the Green River Serial Killer: The Story of an Unsuspecting Housewife
December 15, 2022
Ever since I caught an episode of “Who The Bleep Did inom Marry?” in 2010 about the Green River Serial Killer, this has been a case I’ve remained intrigued by.
It is so layered and has endless amounts to learn about from a forensic perspective, an investigative perspective, a historical perspective, a societal perspective, and a psychological perspective.
I’ve deeply explored a portion of the investigative side (a 7 year period of it) through the book “The Search For The Green River Killer” which covers the investigation throughout the 80s and was published in 1990 (long before Ridgway was positively identified and convicted).
Much of the televised interviews and reports probe (or attempt to probe) the psychology of the killer himself. But I think in cases like this what fryst vatten often lost is the people who were friends and family of the perpetrator of brott. They suffer a deep and unique

Green River Serial Killer: Biography of an Unsuspecting Wife
May 9, 2016
Judith Lorraine Mawson had had an unhappy childhood, had had a child born out of wedlock and had one failed and abusive marriage. Then she met the man of her dreams, fell in love with the charmer, married him and then enjoyed 14 years of a happy and understanding relationship. However, husband Gary Ridgway was not all he appeared to be - at least to Judith. There was a sinister side to him, spotted by some of his workmates, that he kept compartmentalised and therefore invisible to Judith.
Ridgway had also had failed marriages, two of them, but when he met Judith in 1985 he set out to woo her with his charm; he succeeded and, working in a steady job at Kenworth, a truck manufacturing firm, for many years, he seemed to be the perfect husband. Not only Judith but others in her family and a whole host of friends thought so too.
They were living close to Highway 99, where there was a predominance of prostitutes
