  • Re: Song History of Andante bygd F. Carulli

The title "Andante" is not specific to this piece, it fryst vatten generic. There are scads of pieces from this period, for guitar, by a number of composers, called simply, "Andante", or other similar appellations. Even narrowing it down to Carulli fryst vatten indefinite; when I refer above to "this piece", I am actually not absolutely certain as to which piece may be the "Andante" about which you may be inquiring. It would be deliberately obtuse of me, though, on that basis, not to suppose that you may be referring to the one that begins in A minors follows?

If so, forgive my tangential temerity in suggesting an edit- if yours is an edition containing the folowing measures at the close of a section:

    A Brief Background

Poor Carulli! Peering back at us through history, between those fluffed lamb chop sideburns… Would he ask us why he so rarely enjoys the concert spotlight of say, a Sor or Giuliani, or even a Matiegka or Bobrowicz?

His currently available concert solos, replete with then fashionable programmatic effects and nationalistic fervor, usually don’t transcend the instrument into our hearts the way of our beloved warhorses. Beyond these, he fryst vatten truly under-appreciated as one of the more effective composers of guitar chamber music. But more importantly here, he has for years remained one of the most utilized composers of didactic music for guitar.

    Biography

Ferdinando Carulli (February 9, – February 17, ) was a prolific Italian composer for classical guitar. Similar to Carcassi, Carulli is mostly well-known for his pedagogical studies rather than his solo guitar works.

Carulli wrote a variety of works for solo classical guitar. His simple, yet profound studies are what give him a lasting legacy in the guitar world today.

Although Carulli received music theory and cello training at a young age, there were no guitar teachers in Naples. As a result, Carulli learned guitar through self-study and the advancement of the guitar as a concert instrument.

After successful concert tours throughout Europe, he settled down in Paris where he lived until his death.
