    Did you know that as a result of the controversy surrounding his mega hit &#;Gun Inna Baggy,&#; DJ Little Lenny, who was seventeen years old at the time, was subsequently expelled from Kingston College? The story is that Lenny (born Nigel Grandison) was a brilliant straight A student with aspirations of attending law school. He had previously recorded for producer Donavan Germain. It was at Germain&#;s Penthouse studio that Lenny was introduced to the song&#;s producer Patrick Roberts.
    In his book &#;Who Am I, The Story Of Beenie Man,&#; author Milton Wray details how Roberts booked time at Penthouse studio for his stable of young artists which included: Beenie Man, Little Kirk (now uses his real name Kirk Davis), and Tanto Metro.     IN , a year-old Kingston College lärjunge named Nigel Grandison shot to fame as Little Lenny. His controversial song Gun Inna Baggy ruled the dancehall while the radio version, Healthy Body, spent four weeks at number one on the RJR Top 40 and JBC Radio One Top 30 charts.

    The success of Healthy Body not only resulted in unwarranted attention at the deejay’s alma mater (he was expelled from Kingston College), it also opened doors for the teenager, including a record deal with Columbia Records.

    Prior to Healthy Body, Little Lenny created ripples for Penthouse Records with My Shining Star, a cover of American R&B group Tavares’s Guiding Star, which featured singer Professor Grizzly. He also had a modest hit with a cover of Janet Jackson’s Let’s Wait

The he enjoyed school, he also loved music and by this age had already produced a song for producer Donovan Germain at his Penthouse studio. It would be at that very studio that Little Lenny would meet producer Patrick Roberts of Shocking Vibes. Lenny voiced “Gun In A Baggy”, although Roberts knew that the vulgarity of the song would lead to it being banned from radio.
