Award winning artist Teri Rose paints what she knows and loves best – horses, dogs, and the wide open spaces of a country life. Generally using the laborious and time consuming method called glazing – layering oil pigment upon pigment with fine, meticulous strokes – she creates paintings and portraits with a vibrant image of great depth. Occasionally crossing over into impressionism, she uses that genre to showcase the movement of horses and the cowboys that ride them.
No matter the subject, her aim is always to capture its elemental aspects through a mix of old world realism and contemporary impressionistic techniques. She draws on the painterly techniques of Rembrandt and Raphael to bring a three dimensional quality to the two dimensional plane of the canvas.

In 2022 the Sisters of St. Paul’s Monastery and Teri Rose, MS, LN, OblSB developed a new approach to preventative healthcare backed by the 1500-year-old Benedictine tradition. This program is called Benedictine CARE. CARE stands for Community, Awareness of God, Respect for persons, and Ecumenical. This is a health-education program designed around Benedictine monastic values of Stability, Stewardship, and Community. Where participants join a monthly group to learn a new integration of lifestyle as medicine, contemplative practice, and the Benedictine Monastic Heritage.
