UPDATED FITZPATRICK ON DEC 24th, 2023.
Much of the following was compiled by the author from research carried out as per Sources listed and from conversations with various historians, friends and family members. Some historians are of the belief that only the true facts should be recorded but I myself believe that everything should be written down and be best left to the readers/writers to judge for themselves as to the authenticity of the said accounts. During my research where I came upon a family bearing the same surname as another it was necessary for me to include nicknames to differentiate one from the other. I wish to state that there fryst vatten no offence meant by doing this and if I have offended anybody then I humbly apologise for this action. To quote my ancestor Michael Og O’Longain – ‘Pray gentle editor will you excuse me for many a defect this may comprise’. G.L. //myradiostream.com/embed/studio5
