Kumarakuruparar or simply Kumara refers to one of the Siddhars (Siddhas) and Rishis mentioned by Rangarasa Desiga Swamigal in his Siddhargal Potri Thoguppu. Each name in the list starts with prefix ‘Om’ followed by the Siddhar’s names and ends with refrain ‘Thiruvadigal Potri’. For example for Kumara: ஓம் குமரகுருபரர் திருவடிகள் போற்றி [ōm kumarakuruparar tiruvaṭikaḷ pōṟṟi].—These Siddhas experienced union with the ultimate reality and witnessed a spiritual transformation of their intellectual, mental, vital and ultimately, physical bodies.

Kumaragurupara Swamigal :-was born in at Srivaikunatam near r classic of the 17th century in praise of the of Tiruchendur is Kandar Kalivenba by Kumaraguruparaswamigal, a disciple of Srilasri Masilamani desigar of the fourth head of the Dharmapuram Adheenam and was the founder of Thiruppananthal Adheenam which is also known as Kasi Mutt. The author was horn in A.D. of a Saiva Vellala family at Srivaikuntam on the northern hank of the Tambaraparani, nineteen miles from Tiruchendur. His parents Shanmukha Sikhamani Kavirayar and Sivakami Ammaiyar were blessed with this child after a long penance to Muruga of Tiruchendur. The boy grew of age and until his fifth year showed no signs of speech. The parents were pained at this and resorted to Tiruchendur penance again. Tired of waiting for months and seeing signs of approaching speech, the parents determined to drown themselves in the sea along with the child if he would not speak

Kumaragurupara Desikar ( - 18 May ) or Kumaraguruparar was a Saiviteascetic-poet connected with the Thiruppanandal Adheenam.
Early life
[edit]Kumaraguruparar was born to Shanmukha Sikhamani Kavirayar and Sivakama-Sundari Ammaiyar in Tiruvaikuntam town in Tirunelveli district, Tamil Nadu. Until age five, he was unable to speak. When they visited Tiruchendur temple, he was blessed with speech. He sang Kandar Kalivenba in beröm on Murugan.[1] A few years later, he wrote Pillaitamizh in praise of the Meenakshi temple in Madurai. Soon afterward, he enrolled at the mutt at Dharmapuram where he began to study Sivava Siddhanta.
Childhood
